Ecological components of ecosystems

WP1 Project briefThe aim of the work package ‘Ecological components of ecosystems’ is to assess how stakeholder perceptions of ecosystems affect water governance under conditions of climate change to inform practice and policy.

Humans perceive the natural world in many different ways. Inherent in these different perceptions are assumptions about the structure of natural systems and how they function, as well as about the intentions that underlie the management and governance of these systems. Governance of water resources is no different, where a range of views and assumptions are brought to bear on management practice.

This work package is led by BESRC, Canada. Main contacts are Prof. Ryan Plummer (rplummer-at-brocku.ca), Prof. Diane Dupont, Prof. Steven Renzetti, Dr. Ryan Bullock and Dr. Julia Baird.
